From 25 to 27 June 2019, a delegation from the National Ports Agency (ANP), chaired by the Director
of the Port Training Institute, visited Chennai in India for the implementation of the Framework
Agreement for Cooperation in Training which was signed on 14 December 2017 in NEW DELHI
between the Moroccan National Ports Agency (ANP) and the Indian Maritime University (IMU).
During this mission, the ANP delegation held a series of meetings at UMI, the Chennai campus and
Chennai Port Trust.
The Vice Chancellor of UMI, the President of Chennai Port Trust and the Director of the Chennai
Campus have expressed their desire to collaborate with the ANP in the implementation of projects of
On its part, the Moroccan delegation testified to its experience in bilateral and tripartite cooperation
and its willingness to broaden the areas of collaboration and encourage the exchange of expertise in
the port sector.
At the end of this mission, several areas of cooperation were studied and led to action plans to be
implemented in the coming months, namely (i) The design of short-term programs to meet the needs
of both parties (ANP and ChPT), (ii) The exchange of expertise between ANP and ChPT and (iii) The
establishment of a tripartite (IMU-ANP-ChPT) or bilateral (ANP-ChPT) memorandum of
